Minister: Russia to deliver eight SSJ100 planes to Mexico in 2017

MEXICO, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- Russia will finish deliveries of eight Sukhoi Super Jet 100 (SSJ100) planes to Mexican air carrier Interjet until the end of the year, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told reporters late on Monday.

He also said that delivery of MC-21 medium-range aircraft may start from 2021.

“The plane is being tested now, and we will be ready to ship in to the Mexican market from 2021,” he said.

CEO of the Russian Export Center (REC) Pyotr Fradkov told PRIME that his organization is ready to support exports of MC-21 jets.

“Although the plane is only being certified, we have started preliminary negotiations with (its maker) Irkut on export financing,” he said.

CEO of Mexican Craft Avia Center Jose de Vicente told PRIME that his company intends to acquire 15 Russia-made Ansat helicopters until 2020.

“We have a commercial proposal to acquire a helicopter, but we could buy up to 15 aircraft until 2020,” he said and added that the helicopter is to be certified in Mexico until 2018.

“The capacity, security and price make the helicopter the most commercially viable as compared with similar products from Western Europe and the U.S.,” he said.

De Vicente also said that construction of a service center for Ansat helicopters has begun in Guadalajara.
